New Jersey, which also notched just its the sixth win of the season, beat Boston for the first time since February 2007 to snap a 12-game skid in the series. "It's not so much a difference between them, it's a difference between us. As we progress through our season we've definitely improved," said Lopez about the seemingly uneven matchup coming in. "Through the All-Star break...we've played very well against teams and we finally broke through tonight." The Nets (6-52) are trying to avoid compiling the worst record in NBA history set by the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers, who went 9-73. They are winless (0-14) this season in the second half of back-to-back games, however. The Wizards, meanwhile, are coming off a tough overtime loss to New York on Friday. David Lee's layup with 1.6 seconds remaining in the extra frame helped New York edge Washington, 118-116, and snap an eight-game losing streak in that one. Washington center Andray Blatche totaled 26 points while setting career highs in rebounds (18) and assists (six). Randy Foye and JaVale McGee each recorded a double-double for the Wizards, who have dropped three of four. Foye scored 22 points and dished out 10 assists, while McGee had a season-high 18 points and 10 boards to go along with five blocks. "It's frustrating," Foye said. "You have to give New York a lot of credit though. They played hard and finished the game." The Wizards have won three straight and four of their last five over New Jersey.
