Clips host Pacers at Staples Center
Basketball Betting Lines
12/05/2009 -
(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Los Angeles Clippers will resume a six-game homestand
Saturday, when they host the Indiana Pacers at Staples Center.
The Clippers have split the first two tests of the residency and is coming off
Wednesday's 102-85 loss to the Houston Rockets, as Baron Davis finished with
20 points and Marcus Camby added 19 rebounds to go with nine points for the
Clippers, who had won four of five games entering the night.
"I was disappointed in our mental toughness," Clippers head coach Mike
Dunleavy said. "When the ball isn't going in for us, that's when we have to be
more focused. They were tougher than we were. They scrapped better than we
did."
Al Thornton had 19 points in the setback. The Clippers are 5-6 as the host
this season and will also welcome the Magic, Spurs and Wizards to the City of
Angels.
Indiana, meanwhile, hopes to salvage the finale of a four-game road trip. The
Pacers fell to 0-3 on the swing Friday in Salt Lake City when Carlos Boozer
scored a season-high 35 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, as the
Utah Jazz built a big lead early and hung on for a 96-87 win over the Pacers.
Danny Granger led the Pacers with 26 points and also had eight rebounds, but
Indiana fell to its fourth straight defeat overall. Troy Murphy added 16
points and 10 boards, and T.J. Ford had 13 points in defeat. Mike Dunleavy
Jr., the son of the Clips' coach, donated 10 points in a losing cause.
"You're not going to win many games getting out to a start like that," Murphy
said. "We really put ourselves behind the eight ball, and it was just too big
a lead for us to come back."
The Pacers defeated the Clippers, 86-73, late last month at Conseco Fieldhouse
and have won three of the last four meetings in the series. Indiana has won
two straight and 11 of its last 15 games at the Clippers.

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.
The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.
MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.
Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
