Mets extend partnership with Triple-A Buffalo through 2012

07/21/2010 - Flushing, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New York Mets and the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons announced a two-year extension of their player development partnership through the 2012 season.

The Bisons began their affiliation with the Mets in 2009 after spending the 14 previous years in the same capacity with the Cleveland Indians. The team last won an International League title in 2004.

"We are thrilled with our partnership with the Rich family and how the Bisons are developing players who are making significant contributions at the major- league level," said Mets COO Jeff Wilpon. "Bob and Mindy (Rich) share our vision of success on the field and our philosophy of helping New Yorkers make a lasting impact in the community.

The Mets currently have 12 players on their 25-man roster who have played for the Bisons since the start of the 2009 season. The club also has minor league affiliations in Binghamton and Brooklyn.
